NAKED SPACE

VASTO invited NAKED SPACE to alternate its living space identity in a motion-activated manner by introducing an air-powered modular system made from double-sided recyclable PVC tarpaulin. Installed in diverse spatial formats, this system became a platform to host and intensify three different actions—listening, performing, and screening—where we created together an environment that responds to movement and presence, embracing CASA VASTO as an entity alive.

SOFT ACTION is built for adaptation. It rejects fixed form in favor of compositional flexibility, always shaped in response to context. The structure unfolded across a 3-day event, evolving through three distinct actions:

The first action—performing—suspended the inflatable system from the ceiling, draping space into passage, curtain, and threshold. Three performers engaged with the material as a living interface, interpreting the form through body language and movement.

The second action—listening—lowered the ceiling plane, integrating a reflective surface to receive light and close the space inward. The structure gathered intimacy, enclosing sound within a soft, responsive envelope.

The third action—screening—redefined the floor as a deep, pliable seating field. A subtle shift from the rear bedroom expanded the spatial reading—merging private scale with collective presence.

Each action revisions a modern power dynamic—fluid, participatory, and collaborative—given away to the active participants as shared authorship and communal experience. Through air as form and transition, SOFT ACTION invites activation over observation. It is not static design, but a living tool—relational, open, and constantly becoming.
