A pneumatic refuge within the festival landscape
Created for Fever at Primavera Sound, NAKED SPACE develops a self-supporting inflatable environment inspired by the architectural imagination of space exploration and moon landing culture of the 1980s.
Outer Oasis reimagines the festival activation as an enclosed pneumatic landscape — a temporary interior suspended between the immediacy of the festival and a speculative future.
The exterior is formed as a continuous inflatable ring, geometrically deformed in response to the constrained condition beneath the bridge. Pressurized air gives the structure its stability while allowing the form to remain soft, lightweight, and independent from the surrounding architecture. Portal-like openings are shaped directly into the membrane, creating thresholds that frame movement between the intensity of the festival and the quieter atmosphere within.
Inside, a continuous inflated seating landscape extends the same spatial language. Clustered, multi-lobed volumes create different conditions for leaning, reclining, sitting, and gathering without prescribing fixed positions. Variations in height and curvature allow bodies to occupy the surface intuitively, while maintaining fluid circulation around the central bar.
Rather than separating architecture, furniture, and atmosphere, the installation treats them as one continuous system. The ring defines the condition, the seating gathers bodies, and the interior becomes a temporary oasis for slowing down, listening, eating, and being together.
Designed for disassembly and future reuse, the structure can later operate independently in open environments — allowing the spatial system to shift context without losing its identity.
